(Griffin Hill Solstice Disc Invitational)

June 21, 2025 (The actual Solstice!)

This was the 5th time this event was held.  Started in 2021.

Weather:  We had the promise of light rain all week prior to the event!  On the day of, we had a shower in the early morning hours so the grass was wet but no precipitation all day.  No real hard shadows but no rain!  Maybe 60F? and clouds

Players:  25 had signed up, 22 actually played in the first round. while 16 made the mixed doubles part of the tournament;

Attitudes:

BA had his Bloody Mary lubrication going strong from 08:30 on!

Awards:

Most Regular:  (-4) Count Enrico Ferrari

Hot Chick:  (par) Melody

2nd from Last (-10 but was the first time she had ever thrown a disc!)  Sky

Best Shooter on the 18:  (-15) Dragon Slayer

Most Aces;  2.5? Eye!

Nutcracker:( heartburn from Cajun's Tehran Rcie, which was incredibly good) Sal

7th Place:  (-8) PK

Forget Me NOT:  Jerry Garcia (from the course prep day, two discs and a glove (not found)

King PUTT:  DVE 40' putt!  (who knew he could hook that up??!!  ), Kind of a blind squirrel finding a nut syndrome)

2nd Place in Best Disc round:  Ron and Cajun, with Ron taking it home with real ideas on how to make it better!
